The Marine and Terrestrial Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar (Spain) was stated in 1987 by the Andalusian Government and Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO. First natural park preserving the earth and the sea. It contains exceptional landscape values, interesting geological formations and reefs, unique fauna and flora in the world, standing out the palmetto, the only European palm.
You can see volcanic plugs everywhere. Seven millions years have matured extremely beautiful beaches made of fine sands, but where the waves haven´t been able to sculpture the Masterwork of the Creation, the primitive rock has been exposed like the first day of its origin, being a token of the colossal forces that operate the Earth´s crust and modelate the landscape.
